COHART Report - Summer 2026

COHART - the Central Oregon Homelessness Alliance Response Team - continues to fill the gaps that fall between the systems. Recent examples of assistance:

• Paid for car insurance to allow someone to continue to work.

• Paid to investigate a car repair.

• Paid for a buddy heater and propane. (A buddy heater is a portable, propane-powered radiant space heater designed for safe use in well-ventilated indoor and outdoor spaces.)

• Paid for brake replacements on a truck so they could continue to work.

• We located and arranged for a wheelchair for a shelter resident.

Car insurance, a heater and propane, new brakes. These aren't just items - they are dignity, health, and someone's next step toward housing.
