Summer 2026 Hygiene Bag Drive Report
Updated: Sep 28

From July 19 through August 9, six congregations and many individuals across Central Oregon came together for COHA's Summer Hygiene Collection - and what a difference they made.
Story Dwelling, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Oregon (UUFCO), Trinity Episcopal, and First Presbyterian all rallied their congregations to donate hygiene items, while Westside Church and Bend Church contributed funds to purchase much-needed supplies. In total, the drive gathered more than 2,700 items, including toilet paper, water, snacks, hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene products, and cooling scarves for our neighbors braving the summer heat.
The donations were distributed to Family Kitchen, Shepherd's House Ministries, and Bend Church's Open Door ministry, putting supplies directly into the hands of those who need them most.
A special thank-you goes to REACH, who contributed nearly 2,000 pairs of socks from BOMBAS - ensuring that no one in our community has to go without dry, clean socks. (First Presbyterian's donations were directed to Warm Springs and St. Vincent de Paul, extending the collection's reach even further.)
To every congregation, volunteer, and donor who participated: thank you. This was a true community effort, and a beautiful example of what happens when churches work together for their neighbors.
Want to be part of the next collection? We're already dreaming about a winter drive. Reach out to COHA to get your congregation involved!
